PUBLIC HEARING: RICHARD EMMENS
Jackson Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026 at 7pm. The Hearing will be held at the Jackson Township Hall located at 799 County Road 175, West Salem, OH 44287. The application is for a variance for RICHARD & ROBIN NORMAN, 749 TWP RD 101, WEST SALEM, OH 44287. TWP SECTION D11 for a variance to split their lot into two parcels; the front lot being four acres and the back lot being seven acres, to utilize an easement of 50 feet for access for 2nd lot, and to build a mobility accessible home with a mother-in-law suite.
The Appeals Board is required by law to review variance applications located in general farm districts in Jackson Township, which is located in the resolution of Jackson Township, TWP SECTION 4, DEFINITIONS, PAGE 21, 454, "A RELAXATION OF THE REQUIREMENTS WHERE SUCH VARIANCE WILL NOT BE CONTRARY TO THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND WHERE OWING TO CONDITIONS PECULIAR TO THE PROPERTY AND NOT THE RESULT OF ACTIONS OF THE APPLICANT. A LITERAL ENFORCEMENT OF THE RESOLUTION WOULD RESULT IN UNNECESSARY AND UNDUE HARDSHIP.
